VoxBox #3: imPRESS Manicure from Broadway Nails

I am a HUGE fan of fake nails, especially since I am a nail biter! I first received the imPress Manicure VoxBox from Influenster 2 months ago and haven' t had a chance to post this blog (no internet at home).

I have seen them advertised but I had my doubts about how durable they would be but decided to give them a try. I am usually rough with my nails, even when I don't mean to be, so they almost always either fall off or get damaged quickly. I've noticed in stores that they are around the same price as you would pay for other brands of glue-on nails and they come in a really good range of colours and designs (so thats a plus!). I'm sure there's something to suit everyone's taste.

I did find, that these lasted me about a week before they started to fall off on their own. The remainder of the nails came off easily and didn't damage my nails underneath. (Like most acrylic nails or glue on nails) I didn't have to soak them in acetone but having said that the nails that were left were secure and would have probably stayed on for another day or 2.

One problem I did face was that the nails didn't exactly fit my real nails. I've noticed that my fingers are a little wider than most people's and the imPRESS nails  were always just too narrow for my finger nails.

PROS: Quick and easy to apply, they look good, fit great and didn't damage my nails underneath

CONS: They're a little expensive if you want to wear them everyday and (for me) didn't last a week.

So after all that, would I buy them and most definitely recommend them to friends and family members.

Mystery Brand Revealed! Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser!

This week I received a box from L'Oreal revealing the mystery samples I received the week before. In the box was, Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser shampoo, conditioner, split end serum and a reconstructing butter.

In the past I have done very well with Garnier Fructis treatments than the regular rinse outs for some reason, and after my first use, detangling was a breeze when I got out the shower. It also made my hair very soft and less frizzy when it air-dried! My hair has been less frizzy all week, which is a plus! I have been able to have control over my hair (if you know what I mean!), and have been able to straighten and style my hair without having to overuse greasy gels and hair sprays! Thank you L'Oreal for making my hair more manageable!!!

Influenster VoxBox #2: L'Oreal VoxBox Mystery Challenge

So this week I opted in to receive my second VoxBox from Influenster, this time it being from L'Oreal. I was sent 3 bottles: 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 split-end serum; all being from a mystery brand. The challenge you ask? Try all three of the products and guess what which brand from L'Oreal, I just used.

After first testing the samples out this morning, my first guess is Pantene Pro-V. It smells and has a similar texture to Pantene. My hair is soft, and not as frizzy as usual.

Sally Hansen Total Knockout Voxbox Review

This morning I received my very first Influenster VoxBox! I have been chosen to review Sally Hansen's new Total Knockout nail polish. Now, I always have my nails painted, decorated, done. I believe it is always a classy way to make our appearance look better, plus it always adds to an outfit! I have a hard time finding the right nail polish, as I am pretty rough with my nails and almost always have chipped the polish within the first few hours of wear. How? Haven't figured that one out yet.

Why am I so excited to try out Sally Hansen's Total Knockout Voxbox? Because the Total Knockout polish has all 7 benefits of a salon manicure in one bottle.

"Skip the salon, get the results. Don't settle for just color when you can get a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired color, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish all in 1 bottle. Featuring the unique precision brush for a flawless finish and patented Vita Care technology for advanced 10 day wear, more shine and nourishing care." (Complete Salon Manicure - SallyHansen.com)

What colors did I receive?

"Jaded" - Mint Green (one of my top fave colors of the season!)
"Red My Lips" - Red (Just in Time for Valentines)
"Pat on the Black" - Burgundy tinted Black (interesting color)

I ABSOLUTELY love this nail polish! It stays on my nails without chipping longer than any other nail polish I have ever used. I really like how the brush is a bit wider and doesn't fray like others, and the polish has most definitely made my nails become stronger! I will recommend this nail polish to all of my friends, even better most of them will receive a bottle for their birthdays!

A Dairy Free Year!

I have decided that one of my major New Years Resolutions is to eat dairy-free, except for a little bit of milk in my tea in the morning. I have completely given up caffeine and drinking sodas. I had recently posted on my Twitter that I was pushing the dairy-free lifestyle as I am lactose intolerant and was messaged by Daiya Foods.

Daiya Foods is a company that strives towards dairy free cheeses, they embrace the love of food, commit to kind living and have a great compassion for people and our planet. They focus on our favourite ways to enjoy cheese with delicious dairy-free cheese alternatives. They have created Shreds, Wedges, Slices, Cream Cheese Style Spreads and Pizzas. All Daiya products are free of three of the most common allergens: dairy (casein, whey and lactose), soy and gluten but still contain is creaminess, flavour and savoury goodness.

After emailing a rep, they are sending me coupons so I can try out their delicious recipes.

I will keep you all posted!

Welcome

Welcome to The Life of B. I am Bee. I am a woman, a friend, a daughter. I am a lot of things but really, I'm just a girl in the world. I'm probably a lot like you. I'm in my mid twenties, a student studying marketing, a social media intern and a workaholic. This blog is my outlet. I write about the things I like, the things I do and the places I go. I write about what I want to be when I grow up and my observations on life.

I started blogging nine years ago as a way to have a place to organize my thoughts. Since then I have beat depression, figured out what I have wanted to do with my life (even though its taken 6 years of college and transferring to university and back to college to figure it out) and started a five-year plan.

I like to think I'm pretty laid back and easy going but I do like my routines.  I tend to eat the same things over and over until I'm sick of them.  I survive on less sleep that I'd like. I like to keep busy. I have restarted this blog to help build my social media presence. I will updated you on life, recipes and products that will be in review.
